Photography Workshop | 03.-05.10.25

Prague is a dream city for a Photographer, especially with your planned mix of street photography, architecture, cityscapes, and Multi-Exposures. Here’s a two-and-half day workshop/tour plan that balances iconic sights with lesser-known gems, giving participants variety and opportunities to experiment.

Friday — Arrival & Evening City Magic

12:00 – Meet & Briefing

  • Quick introductions, gear check, and setting expectations.

  • Base location near Old Town for convenience.

12:30–15:00 – Warm-up Street Photography

  • Havelská Market – Colourful stalls & candid shots.

  • Celetná & Karlova Streets – Street life, architectural framing.

15:00–17:30 – Old Town & River Views

  • Old Town Square – Astronomical Clock, gothic spires, layered crowd shots.

  • Ungelt Courtyard – Quiet geometry before the evening rush.

17:30–20:00 – Sunset & Golden Hour

  • Charles Bridge – Golden light on statues, portraits with blurred crowds.

  • Kampa Island – Reflections, swans, intimate riverside details.

20:00–22:00 – Blue Hour & Night Long Exposure

  • Smetanovo nábřeží – Castle & bridge lights reflected in the Vltava.

  • Charles Bridge at Night – Tripod work with boat light trails.

Saturday — Full Day of Exploration

Morning – Panoramas & Architecture (start ~08:00)

  1. Petřín Hill Lookout – Morning light over red rooftops.

  2. Strahov Monastery Courtyard – Arches & city views.

  3. Prague Castle Courtyards – Leading lines, architectural depth.

Midday – Detail & Composition Practice
4. St. Vitus Cathedral exterior – Shadow play and textures.
5. Letná Park – Bridge panoramas with soft midday haze.

Afternoon – Rest & Street Session (13:00–16:00)
6. Backstreets of Malá Strana – Less crowded, charming lanes for candid shots.

Golden Hour to Night (17:00–22:00)
7. Dancing House – Sunset light trails from trams and cars.
8. National Theatre Riverside – Glowing façades reflected in the river.
9. Old Town Bridge Tower – Night view down Charles Bridge with starburst lamps.

Sunday — Final Morning & Wrap-up

Early Morning (Optional Sunrise)

  • Charles Bridge – Minimal crowds, mist, romantic silhouettes.

08:30–11:00 – Closing Photowalk

  • Jewish Quarter streets – Soft morning light and texture-rich facades.

  • Manes Bridge – Castle framed over the Vltava.

11:00–12:30 – Review & Farewell

  • Group image review session in a café.

  • Feedback, editing tips, and Q&A.

This schedule:

  • Maximises the two golden hours and two blue hours you’ll have.

  • Balances street life with landscape/cityscape and architecture.

  • Avoids mid-afternoon harsh light for main subjects — using that time for alleys, markets, or shaded locations.
